Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment serving our TurBARlence Tavern, room service and conference spaces. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food experience, maintaining exceptional food standards and supporting the wider kitchen team.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage
- Prepare and ensure availability of mis en place as required
- Follow all hotel and kitchen policies, procedures and standards
- Provide accurate menu and allergen information to the Food and Beverage team when required
- Keeps all working areas clean and tidy
- Be familiar with other areas in the Kitchen so when called upon, assistance can be provided
Qualifications
- Previous chef experience
- Relevant cookery or trade qualifications
- Experience in a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP
- Positive, flexible and able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and consistent food quality
- Available across early mornings, weekends and public holidays
- Full working rights in Australia
