Job Description
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with corporate accounts, travel partners, government entities, event planners, and key business stakeholders. The role proactively identifies new business opportunities, maximizes existing accounts, and contributes to the hotel's overall commercial strategy.
Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Revenue & Reservations, and Operations, the Senior Sales Manager ensures the achievement of revenue targets while delivering exceptional service to clients and maintaining long-term business partnerships.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales action plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Identify, solicit, and secure new business opportunities across corporate, leisure, government, MICE, wholesale, and group segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Conduct regular sales calls, client visits, networking events, and business presentations.
- Perform hotel site inspections and familiarization (FAM) trips for potential clients.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and commercial agreements within approved guidelines.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on all leads and enquiries.
Account Management
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts and ensure consistent business growth.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify opportunities for increased revenue.
- Develop account plans for strategic clients.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally.
Revenue Generation
- Collaborate with the Revenue & Reservations team to optimize pricing strategies and inventory.
- Promote all hotel products and services, including guest rooms, restaurants, meeting facilities, and special promotions.
- Maximize transient, group, and event revenue opportunities.
- Support upselling and cross-selling initiatives across departments.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and changing customer demands.
- Provide regular market intelligence and recommendations to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, networking events, and industry functions to promote the hotel.
Sales Administration
- Maintain accurate client records, contracts, and sales activities in the CRM system.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, quotations, and presentations.
- Produce weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Ensure all sales documentation complies with company policies and brand standards.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Revenue, Reservations, Events, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Operations to ensure seamless execution of client requirements.
- Coordinate group arrivals, VIP guests, and special events.
- Participate in weekly commercial and revenue meetings.
Leadership
- Mentor and support junior sales team members where applicable.
- Share market knowledge and best practices with the sales team.
Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of hotel sales experience.
- At least 2 years in a Sales Manager role.
- Upscale hospitality experience is preferred.
- Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of corporate, leisure, MICE, and group business segments.
- Strong Saudi Arabian market experience.
- Willing to relocate or travel to Al Baha, Saudi Arabia.
