Job Description
Rixos Hotels is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director of Sales to join the Executive Leadership Team at Rixos Phu Quoc, a landmark luxury all-inclusive resort in Vietnam.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Sales will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the resort’s commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, market positioning, and long-term business success. This executive position will lead all sales activities across key market segments, establishing Rixos Phu Quoc as a leading luxury resort destination in Southeast Asia.
The successful candidate will be a strategic commercial leader with strong luxury hospitality experience, a deep understanding of international markets, and a proven ability to build high-performing sales strategies for large-scale resorts, pre-opening projects, and lifestyle hospitality concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the resort’s sales strategy in alignment with business objectives, brand positioning, and ownership expectations.
- Drive revenue generation across key segments including leisure, luxury travel, groups, MICE, corporate, wholesale, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and growth channels to maximise business performance.
- Establish sales targets, monitor performance, and implement strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Partner closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations teams to optimise commercial performance.
Pre-Opening Sales Strategy & Market Development
- Lead the pre-opening sales strategy, ensuring strong market awareness and positioning ahead of launch.
- Develop the resort’s sales infrastructure, including sales plans, account strategies, market segmentation, and commercial processes.
- Build relationships with key travel partners, luxury agencies, corporate accounts, and international stakeholders.
- Establish the resort’s presence within priority feeder markets and support brand awareness initiatives.
- Develop a strong pipeline of business opportunities ahead of opening and throughout the operational phase.
Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team capable of delivering exceptional commercial results.
- Establish clear objectives, performance standards, and accountabilities within the sales function.
- Coach and mentor team members to maximise individual and team performance.
- Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and commercial excellence.
- Support talent development and succession planning within the Sales team.
Market Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel partners, luxury agencies, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent Rixos Phu Quoc at relevant industry events, sales missions, and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with Rixos corporate teams and regional commercial leaders to leverage global opportunities.
- Support strategic partnerships that enhance brand visibility and revenue growth.
Sales Operations & Performance Management
- Implement effective sales processes, reporting structures, and performance tracking tools.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify opportunities.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and business updates for ownership and senior leadership.
- Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management.
- Drive account management excellence and long-term client relationships.
Brand Experience & Guest-Centric Selling
- Champion the Rixos brand promise and communicate the unique “All-Inclusive, All-Exclusive” experience to global markets.
- Collaborate with Marketing and F&B teams to create compelling sales narratives and luxury experiences.
- Ensure all sales activities reflect the resort’s positioning, values, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience as a Director of Sales or senior commercial leader within an international luxury hotel, resort, or lifestyle hospitality environment.
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth and building successful sales strategies.
- Previous experience in large-scale resort openings, luxury hospitality, or international markets.
- Strong understanding of luxury travel, leisure, MICE, wholesale, and international distribution channels.
- Established network of relationships with key travel partners, luxury agencies, and corporate accounts.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate market opportunities into business results.
- Ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong attention to execution and detail.
- Experience in Asia, ultra all-inclusive, or resort destinations would be highly advantageous.
