Job Description
The Sales Manager – Social Event & Wedding is responsible for generating revenue through the acquisition and management of social events, weddings, engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions, and other private celebrations. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring seamless event execution in collaboration with hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for weddings and social events.
- Build and maintain relationships with wedding organizers, event planners, bridal vendors, decorators, photographers, corporate clients, and community organizations.
- Conduct sales calls, networking activities, and site inspections to promote the hotel's event facilities.
- Attend wedding exhibitions, bridal fairs, and networking events to generate qualified leads.
- Prepare customized proposals, quotations, and contracts based on client requirements.
- Negotiate rates and event packages while maximizing hotel revenue and profitability.
- Follow up on all inquiries promptly to convert leads into confirmed business.
Client Relationship Management
- Establish long-term relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Understand client expectations and recommend suitable event packages and services.
- Conduct venue tours and presentations for prospective clients.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Manage repeat business and referral opportunities.
Event Coordination
- Coordinate event details with Banquet Operations, Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments.
- Conduct pre-event meetings and handovers to ensure all event requirements are communicated accurately.
- Monitor event execution to ensure service standards and guest expectations are met.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues promptly.
Revenue Management
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for social events and weddings.
- Maximize banquet revenue through upselling of accommodation, food & beverage, spa, and additional hotel services.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
Administration
- Update and maintain client information in the hotel's CRM or sales system.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, activity reports, and monthly business forecasts.
- Ensure contracts, deposits, and documentation are completed according to hotel policies.
- Maintain accurate records of inquiries, bookings, and event histories.
Marketing Support
- Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to develop promotional campaigns for weddings and social events.
- Support digital marketing initiatives including social media campaigns, wedding showcases, and promotional materials.
- Contribute ideas for new wedding packages and seasonal promotions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of sales experience in hospitality, preferably in weddings, banquets, or social events.
- Experience in hotel event sales is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of banquet operations and wedding planning processes.
- Established network within the wedding and event industry is an advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems (Opera Sales & Catering or CRM platforms are an advantage).
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
