Job Description
The Income Auditor is responsible for auditing daily hotel revenues, verifying financial transactions, ensuring accuracy of income records, and maintaining compliance with hotel financial policies and procedures. The role ensures that all revenue streams are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily audit of hotel revenue from rooms, food & beverage, banquets, spa, laundry, and other operating departments.
- Verify daily revenue reports generated from PMS, POS, and other hotel systems.
- Reconcile room revenue, guest accounts, city ledger, and cash transactions.
- Ensure all revenue postings are accurate and supported by proper documentation.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, and unusual transactions and report findings to management.
- Review complimentary rooms, discounts, rebates, voids, and adjustments for proper authorization.
- Prepare comprehensive daily audit reports and maintain detailed audit logs for management review and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor revenue system controls and identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and prevent revenue leakage.
- Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies in coordination with department heads and finance team members.
- Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies, hotel procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assist with month-end and period-end closing procedures, including revenue accruals and adjustments.
- Provide training and guidance to hotel staff on proper revenue recording procedures and system usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in hotel finance, income audit, night audit, or accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of hotel revenue operations and accounting practices.
- Experience with hotel systems such as PMS and POS is preferred.
- Good understanding of revenue reconciliation, taxation, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
