Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Night Operation
- Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) during night shifts, ensuring operational continuity and guest satisfaction in the absence of senior leadership.
- Conduct and verify the Night Audit process in coordination with the Finance team, ensuring accuracy of daily financial transactions and reports.
- Manage guest requests, complaints, and unforeseen incidents during night hours with professionalism and discretion.
- Coordinate room allocations, walk-ins, and guest relocations in overbooking or special scenarios.
- Ensure the safety, security, and orderliness of hotel premises by conducting regular patrols with Security and responding to emergencies effectively.
- Monitor lobby, driveway, and guest areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with Loss Control and Safety procedures.
- Support Front Office night operations, including supervising shift handover procedures and ensuring guest-related documentation is accurate and complete.
- Communicate all critical overnight issues and updates in the morning handover to relevant department heads for appropriate follow-up.
Team Management
- Provide department orientation and on-the-job training aligned with hotel service standards and safety procedures.
- Monitor night team members’ appearance, grooming, and professionalism.
- Foster a supportive and responsive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and high service standards.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of hotel services, facilities, and emergency protocols.
- Ensure energy-saving and access control procedures are followed overnight.
- Attend briefings, meetings, and trainings as scheduled or requested.
- Report for duty on time wearing clean and complete uniform at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.
Main Complexity/Critical issues in the Job
- Maintain highest standards and quality of service in Front Office operations during night hours.
- Ensure efficient and independent decision-making in the absence of department heads or the General Manager.
- Respond effectively to guest emergencies, safety issues, and critical incidents with professionalism and discretion.
- Guarantee seamless transition and communication to the day team for continuous service excellence.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Front Office operations.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience during night shifts.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency handling, guest relations, and overnight operations.
Essential Job Skills
- Guest-oriented with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- Calm, confident, and able to make decisions during emergencies or critical situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to supervise, guide, and motivate the night team toward service excellence.
- Knowledge of Opera PMS and experience in night audit processes.
- Able to work independently and manage cross-departmental coordination during night hours.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to maintain accurate records and reports.
Desirable Job Skills
- Additional language proficiency beyond English and the local language.
- Advanced knowledge of hotel systems and reporting tools.
- Experience in training and onboarding new night shift team members.
- Understanding of energy-saving procedures and access control systems in hotels.
- Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physically fit to stand or walk for extended periods during patrols or guest assistance.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, including assisting in evacuations if necessary.
- Clear vision and hearing to monitor hotel environments and guest interactions.
- Capability to operate computer systems and perform administrative tasks during night audit and reporting duties.
