Job Description
Position Overview
The Painter is responsible for carrying out all painting and surface-finishing works across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Under the guidance of the Engineering leadership, this role ensures that all painted surfaces are maintained to the highest aesthetic and quality standards, contributing to a flawless guest experience in line with Rixos luxury brand standards.
The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, safety awareness, and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Painting & Surface Preparation
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and patching to ensure smooth and even finishes.
- Apply paint using appropriate techniques including brush, roller, and spray methods.
- Mix paints accurately to achieve required colors and finishes; maintain proper records of color formulas when necessary.
- Perform inspection and touch-ups to ensure consistently high-quality workmanship.
Protection, Equipment & Housekeeping
- Protect furniture, fixtures, floors, and surrounding areas from paint splashes or damage.
- Clean, maintain, and store painting tools and equipment properly to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
Preventive Maintenance & Coordination
- Support preventive maintenance programs to maintain the overall appearance of the resort.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and painting-related tasks to minimize guest disturbance.
- Work closely with Engineering colleagues and other departments to ensure timely task completion.
Safety, Standards & Compliance
- Comply fully with Rixos Engineering Policies & Procedures and operational standards.
- Strictly follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Adhere to the ISO Integrated Management System (IMS), including:
- Quality Management (ISO 9001)
- Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
- Food Safety (ISO 22000)
- Customer Complaint Handling (ISO 10002)
- Actively participate in:
- Risk management and safety programs
- Environmental impact reduction initiatives
- Energy and water conservation efforts
- Continuous improvement and guest satisfaction programs
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, Painting, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel, resort, or large commercial property.
- Language: Basic working proficiency in English.
