Company Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Team Member - Handyperson to join our hotel maintenance team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the hotel building, guest rooms, public areas, and surrounding facilities to a high standard, ensuring they remain fully operational, clean, safe, and comfortable for guests and staff.
Job Description
You will perform general building maintenance tasks including gib stopping, carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, and electrical testing, as well as respond to day-to-day repair and maintenance requests. The successful applicant must be capable of working independently and efficiently, particularly during weekend shifts

Inspect and report issues or damage in guest rooms and common areas; complete job sheets and updates.
Prioritize maintenance tasks and determine when to escalate or engage external contractors if necessary.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and supplies used.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and liaise with the Chief Engineer or Manager on Duty as needed.
Ensure compliance with fire, health & safety, and environmental procedures in all work activities.
Participate in continuous improvement by suggesting system and procedure enhancements.
Qualifications
Relevant experience in general building, facility, or hotel maintenance
Broad skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, gib stopping, and general repairs.
Understanding of health and safety protocols and ability to safely use a range of hand and power tools.
Ability to work independently, especially during weekend or rostered shifts.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
Basic computer literacy to complete job reports and incident logging.
