Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Manager - Catering Sales to join our sales team in Mumbai, India. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving catering sales growth, managing key client relationships, and implementing strategic sales initiatives to expand our market share. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service while achieving ambitious revenue targets. - Develop and execute targeted catering sales strategies aligned with organizational goals to increase revenue and market penetration in the Mumbai region
- Identify, pursue, and cultivate relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and MICE companies to generate new business opportunities and maintain client loyalty
- Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring consistent communication, satisfaction, and repeat business through proactive account management
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to identify emerging opportunities and provide strategic recommendations for business growth
- Collaborate with the sales team, operations, and revenue management departments to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and "one face to the customer" approach
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients, effectively communicating value propositions and customized catering solutions
- Track, monitor, and report on sales performance metrics, revenue targets, and market share using analytical tools and sales systems
- Support the onboarding and mentoring of new sales team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of sales excellence
- Participate actively in sales and revenue meetings, providing market insights and contributing to strategic planning discussions
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of client information in CRM and reservation systems to support informed decision-making
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients while maintaining profitability and brand positioning standards
- Promote enrollment in loyalty programs and organizational initiatives to enhance customer retention and lifetime value
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hotel Management, Hospitality, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in hotel or catering sales, with demonstrated success in achieving revenue targets
- Fluent spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation purposes
- Proven expertise in B2B sales techniques, client relationship management, and account management
- Solid understanding of distribution channels, reservation systems, and sales tools commonly used in the hospitality industry
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple stakeholder relationships effectively
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
- Exceptional negotiation and persuasion abilities with a customer-focused mindset
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Prior operational experience in a hotel or catering environment
- Familiarity with MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) industry dynamics
- Experience with revenue management principles and practices
- Knowledge of CRM platforms and sales analytics tools
- Certification in hospitality sales or revenue management
- Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and driving business growth
- Experience mentoring or training junior sales team members
