Job Description
Senior Sales Manager
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for generating and managing large group business with a primary focus on programs requiring 101 or more peak room nights within the corporate and association market segments. This role is responsible for driving group revenue through proactive sales efforts, relationship management, and strategic business development. This role focuses on achieving revenue goals, maximizing occupancy, and cultivating long-term partnerships while representing the hotel in a professional and luxury-oriented manner.
The Senior Sales Manager works closely with hotel leadership, revenue management, operations, and event teams to ensure seamless execution of client programs and exceptional guest experiences.
What you will be doing:
- Prospect, solicit, and secure new business opportunities through direct sales efforts, networking, and industry involvement.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts to maximize repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
- Conduct outside sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, and trade show participation.
- Respond to RFPs, negotiate contracts, and close business in alignment with hotel revenue strategies.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, account details, and forecasting within CRM systems.
- Collaborate with revenue management to strategically price and position group opportunities.
- Partner with convention services and operations teams to ensure successful program execution and client satisfaction.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify business opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned market segments.
- Represent the hotel and brand professionally at industry events, client meetings, and community functions.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, pace updates, and business forecasts for leadership review.
- Mentor and support junior sales managers or coordinators when applicable.
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service or luxury hotel environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of group sales, corporate sales, and hotel operations.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Opera preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor with strong business acumen and customer service orientation.
- Ability to travel locally for client meetings, networking events, and industry functions.
Additional Information
Compensation Range: $66,000 - $82,000
Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
