Job Description
- Demonstrate flexibility in assigned duties and follow instructions from management and supervisors.
- Comply with all Health Department regulations, hotel policies, and safety standards.
- Inspect and prepare all workstations and service areas prior to opening to ensure cleanliness and operational readiness.
- Complete all pre-shift, post-shift, cleaning, stocking, and side work duties as assigned.
- Review and complete daily checklists with management to ensure all duties are completed properly.
- Accurately take guest orders and enter them into the P.O.S. system in a timely manner.
- Prepare and serve food and beverage items promptly and according to service standards.
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest requests and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and in compliance with California liquor laws and hotel policies.
- Ensure all guest checks and payment transactions are processed accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, promotions, and events in order to assist guests effectively.
- Utilize upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
- Complete all closing paperwork, tip reporting, and cash handling procedures in accordance with hotel policy.
- Properly operate equipment and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Participate in required training and maintain compliance with all departmental procedures and service standards.
- Communicate professionally with guests, management, and team members while maintaining positive working relationships.
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably within the bar or beverage department of a luxury hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, service standards, and guest experience expectations.
- Valid Food Handler Certification required.
- Valid TIPS Certification required.
- Thorough understanding of responsible alcohol service and compliance with California liquor laws and regulations.
- Basic math skills, including percentages and cash handling calculations.
- Effective verbal communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities, follow direction, and maintain accountability for assigned tasks.
- Passion for guest service with a strong commitment to hospitality and professionalism.
- Experience operating P.O.S. systems, preferably Micros or Silverware.
- Familiarity with pay-at-the-table devices and payment processing procedures.

Hiring Process & Timeline: To help candidates plan accordingly, we anticipate the following timeline for the recruitment process:
- First-Round Interviews - Candidates selected to move forward will be invited to interview on Thursday, 5/28 through Saturday, 5/30, between 11:00AM and 4:00PM.
- Final Interviews - Candidates advancing to the final stage should plan to be available between Monday, 6/01 and Saturday, 6/06, 10:00AM and 5:00PM.
- Hiring Decision - A final hiring decision is expected shortly after the final interview stage.
