Job Description

At Faena Red Sea, every dish tells a story. We are looking for a passionate and driven Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary brigade and support the delivery of exceptional dining experiences inspired by creativity, artistry, and precision. The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for supporting the kitchen brigade at FAENA by preparing high-quality dishes within their assigned section. The role assists in maintaining culinary excellence, consistency, and hygiene standards while contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen in line with luxury hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within the assigned kitchen section
  • Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Support the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and mise en place preparation
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene at all times
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of food items in compliance with food safety standards
  • Keep assigned workstations clean, organised, and fully stocked throughout service
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and report shortages or requisition needs to senior chefs
  • Follow all kitchen health, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • Assist in the training and guidance of Commis Chefs and junior kitchen staff when required
  • Ensure efficient use of ingredients to minimise waste and support cost control efforts
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth and timely service delivery
  • Assist in the preparation of special dishes, banquets, and events as required
  • Ensure all equipment and utensils are properly used, cleaned, and maintained
  • Support menu development and recipe testing when requested by senior chefs

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or a related field preferred
  • 2–4 years of experience in professional kitchen operations, ideally within luxury hospitality or fine dining environments
  • Previous experience working within a specialised kitchen section
  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation standards
  • Experience with South American, Mediterranean, European, or contemporary international cuisine concepts is highly advantageous
  • Exposure to lifestyle hospitality brands or destination dining venues preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages are an advantage
  • Strong culinary skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills within a multicultural brigade
  • Strong time management and ability to handle multiple tasks during service
  • Awareness of cost control, portioning, and minimising food waste
  • Commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards
  • Passion for learning, growth, and continuous culinary development
