Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our kitchen team in the role of Kitchen Hand. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure timely removal of waste and recycling, keeping disposal areas organized.
  • Support kitchen staff in various tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen.
  • Follow established health and safety guidelines in all aspects of the role.
  • Assist with the organization and storage of kitchen supplies

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a flexible roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Motivated and driven.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and learn new tasks.
  • Availability for the specified fixed-term duration.
  • Must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa/permit. (Immigration visa support or sponsorship is not available with this role)
