Job Description
MAIN DUTIES:
Administration
- Go through logbook for follow up
- Periodical check-up linen chart and pantry to ensure all housework are completed within the same day.
- Ensure all linen/rewash linen have been returned promptly.
- Check if any preventive maintenance.
- Keep records of daily housework, production record.
- Rotate employees to different job whenever it is considered necessary.
- Ensure that there are ample stock of chemicals and all other items required for teh department.
- Keep records on attendance of all laundry staff to prepare duty rosters.
Financial and Revenue Responsibilities
- To participate in monthly inventories.
Training and Human Resources
- Maximize the potential of ambassadors by through training programs. Identify training based on departmental needs.
- Work closely with the staff and do on job training.
- Create a positive and relaxed working environment and develop team work.
- Take action to eliminate potential problems and unhealthy practices.
- Ensure wherever possible that employees are provided with a work place free of discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
- Treat complaints of harassment and discrimination promptly and confidentially.
- Treat customers and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect and sensitivity.
- Identify and deal with issues which may cause cross cultural conflict or misunderstanding.
Guest Service Responsibilities
- Make sure that the quality control for guest laundry, room linen, F&B linen and uniform is maintained.
- Ensure that all linen and uniforms are damaged free and properly pressed.
- Check on quality finishing of the product.
Maintenance and Equipment
- Know how to operate all of the equipment and trains staff in safe and proper handling.
- Keep informing engineering department of checking and repairing malfunction machinery
- Assist in the schedule of preventive maintenance program.
Miscellaneous
- To supervise the Laundry operations ensuring that the hotel standards and procedures are fully known and followed.
- To supervise outsourced laundry services, for quality and standard procedures to ensure a proper storage of the chemicals, respecting the environmental procedures.
- To ensure laundry staff has a full knowledge of all the textiles and their proper care.
- To constantly check the linen, uniform for cleanliness and defects and to recommend replacement if necessary.
- To ensure work areas and stores are always in a good state of maintenance and that fire hazards and safety hazards are removed.
- All ambassadors are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.
- All ambassadors may be assigned to other duties in the hotel as and when required by business levels.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Health and Safety
- Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified
- Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
- Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
- Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes etc.
- Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others
- Use safe manual handling techniques and practise safe work habits following Accor Health, Safety and Environment policies, maintain procedures to minimise our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.
