Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Breakfast Demi Chef to support our culinary leadership team during breakfast service and morning kitchen operations. This role is ideal for a passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and is eager to develop their skills within a high-quality culinary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our culinary leaders with daily breakfast kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Take responsibility for assigned sections during breakfast service, ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely execution
  • Prepare and present high-quality breakfast dishes, including à la carte, buffet items, eggs, pastries, mise en place, and room service
  • Maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency in line with brand and hygiene standards
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and WHS regulations
  • Assist with stock rotation, temperature control, waste minimisation, and stock management procedures
  • Lead by example by supporting and guiding apprentices and junior kitchen team members
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction

Key Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications and previous experience in the hotel industry preferred.
  • Proven experience in à la carte service, with a strong understanding of breakfast operations and fast-paced service
  • Knowledge of food safety requirements.
  • Service-oriented with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change.
