Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and driven Handyperson to join our Maintenance team. This role offers the opportunity to work across all areas of the hotel, playing a vital part in maintaining our property to the highest standards and supporting a safe, welcoming environment for our guests and team.

  • Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks across the hotel, including guest rooms and public areas
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs and scheduled maintenance projects
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests as a priority
  • Complete general maintenance tasks such as painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling, and minor repairs
  • Assist with plant, equipment servicing, and room moves as required
  • Assist with Hotel emergency evacuations as required
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are used, stored, and maintained correctly
  • Support energy and water efficiency initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance team and assist team members as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson role
  • Safety consciousness
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, physical role with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude
  • Practical skills in general building maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical basics) — no formal qualification required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with guests, team members, and contractors professionally
  • Guest-focused mindset with attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts including weekends and public holidays
