Job Description

As the Basin Glacial Waters Operations Manager, you will oversee all daily operations of our thermal bathing wellness facility. This role is central to our vision of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as a luxury wellness destination rooted in nature, mindfulness, and genuine care.

Reporting to the Director of Basin, you are responsible for leading a team of wellness-focused colleagues while ensuring exceptional service, operational excellence, and a consistently safe and serene environment for our guests.

This position requires calm, composed leadership in a warm, humid, and quiet environment, with an authentic personal commitment to wellness—someone who truly walks the walk and talks the talk.

What You Will Be Doing
Operational Leadership
•    Oversee all daily operations of Basin Glacial Waters, ensuring a seamless, high-quality guest experience.
•    Maintain the facility at the highest standards of cleanliness, tidiness, function, and safety.
•    Monitor all bodies of water, working closely with certified Pool Operators to ensure safe chemical levels and overall water quality.

Team Leadership & Development
•    Lead a team of wellness-oriented colleagues modeling professionalism, mindfulness, and Fairmont service culture.
•    Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and performance-manage all operational colleagues.
•    Foster a calm and supportive environment that encourages personal and professional growth.

Administrative & Financial Management
•    Create and maintain SOPs and training guides for all operational roles.
•    Manage scheduling, payroll control, and staffing plans that support both guest demand and financial targets.
•    Oversee inventory, ordering, and stock management of supplies, chemicals, linens, and amenities.
•    Ensure accurate use of Book4Time and Silverware systems where applicable.

Safety & Guest Experience
•    Ensure all colleagues are well-versed in health and safety procedures, emergency protocols, and facility-specific hazards.
•    Serve as a calm and visible leader throughout the facility, responding to guest needs with poise and professionalism.
•    Collaborate regularly with Engineering to coordinate preventative maintenance and address areas of concern promptly.
•    Represent the Wellness Department on the Hotel Health & Safety Committee.

Cross-Department Collaboration
•    Maintain strong communication with Housekeeping, Engineering, Rooms, and Food & Beverage to ensure cohesive guest service and facility operations.
•    Support colleagues throughout the facility as needed, maintaining a strong, positive presence.

Qualifications

•    Minimum five years of exceptional operations experience in a thermal bathing facility, spa, or wellness environment.
•    Proven leadership experience, ideally managing wellness-oriented teams.
•    Personal passion for wellness.
•    Experience with scheduling, payroll, inventory management, recruiting, and team development.
•    Ability to work effectively in warm, humid, and quiet environments.
•    Calm, composed, and flexible under pressure.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.

Considered an Asset
•    Experience with Book4Time and/or Silverware systems.
•    Previous hospitality or luxury wellness experience.
•    Previous exposure to health clubs, spas, pools, or recreational facilities.
