We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our team at Novotel Queenstown Lakeside. The successful candidate will assist the Food & Beverage Operations Manager and Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene are consistently maintained.

• Assist Executive and Sous Chefs with menu preparation and daily kitchen operations.

• Supervise kitchen staff in the absence of senior chefs and provide coaching and mentoring to team members and apprentices.

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, presentation, and portion control in compliance with HACCP and NZ food safety regulations.

• Monitor stock levels, manage food costs, and implement efficient kitchen practices.

• Liaise with restaurant teams regarding menu items, special requests, and operational requirements.

• Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained, cleaned, and used safely.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a commercial or hotel kitchen.

• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen operations.

• Leadership skills with experience supervising staff or apprentices.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Wage $31.95 per hour
