Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune, India. As the leader of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facility's systems and infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineering professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment
- Oversee and manage complex engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints
- Analyze and optimize energy consumption, implementing conservation measures to reduce operational costs
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize the impact of maintenance activities on daily operations
- Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance records, project reports, and budget forecasts
- Respond to emergency situations promptly, coordinating necessary repairs and minimizing downtime
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in facility management and engineering
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for facility improvements and upgrades
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Professional Engineering license
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in facility management or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering projects and maintenance operations
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety
- Expertise in energy management and conservation techniques
- Proficiency in project management and budgeting
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using facility management software and MS Office suite
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
