Job Description
Kitchen Technician
Install, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ventilation systems
Conduct regular inspections to ensure all kitchen appliances are working efficiently and safely
Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues related to kitchen equipment
Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance to prolong the lifespan of kitchen machinery
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all kitchen equipment operations
Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to schedule maintenance without disrupting service
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance
Order and manage spare parts inventory for kitchen equipment repairs
Provide training or guidance to kitchen staff on the proper use and care of equipment
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Completion of a technical diploma or certificate in kitchen equipment maintenance, refrigeration, or a related field
Practical experience in maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen appliances
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems related to kitchen equipment
Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in commercial kitchens
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for handling tools and equipment
Effective communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and management
Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices
Certification in electrical or refrigeration work (depending on region and job scope)
