Job Description

Kitchen Technician

  • Install, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ventilation systems

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all kitchen appliances are working efficiently and safely

  • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues related to kitchen equipment

  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance to prolong the lifespan of kitchen machinery

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all kitchen equipment operations

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to schedule maintenance without disrupting service

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance

  • Order and manage spare parts inventory for kitchen equipment repairs

  • Provide training or guidance to kitchen staff on the proper use and care of equipment

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Completion of a technical diploma or certificate in kitchen equipment maintenance, refrigeration, or a related field

  • Practical experience in maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen appliances

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems related to kitchen equipment

  • Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in commercial kitchens

  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for handling tools and equipment

  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and management

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices

  • Certification in electrical or refrigeration work (depending on region and job scope)
