Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis I to join our culinary team in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. As a Commis I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Stock up the assigned kitchen station with necessary ingredients and raw materials daily
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Master basic cooking methods and prepare daily mise en place for your assigned station
- Follow standard recipe cards to prepare food items while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all kitchen operations
- Clean and maintain all equipment within the food production area
- Report any hazards, unsafe working conditions, or equipment in need of repair to your immediate supervisor
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient completion of tasks
- Assist in stock rotation and inventory management for your assigned section
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards at all times
- Support the culinary team in achieving event objectives and maintaining high-quality standards
- Adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Must be currently based in the UAE
- Previous related experience in the hospitality industry
Commis I – Pastry
Previous experience in pastry preparation within a professional kitchen
Skilled in creating and presenting a wide variety of desserts and baked goods
Attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to quality
Strong teamwork and time management skills
Commis I – Fruit & Vegetable Carving
Proven expertise in fruit and vegetable carving for buffet or event presentations
High level of creativity, precision, and artistry in food presentation
Ability to work under pressure and meet event timelines
Team-oriented with strong organizational skills
Commis I – Kitchen Storekeeping Support
Prior experience in kitchen operations with an interest in storekeeping tasks
Knowledge of inventory management, stock rotation, and kitchen hygiene standards
Ability to maintain accurate records and support kitchen efficiency
Strong organizational skills and reliability in handling supplies
