- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems – HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
- Lead, schedule, and support the engineering team, ensuring effective coverage and high standards of work.
- Manage and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and public areas.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests or emergencies, minimising disruption to operations and guests.
- Collaborate with department heads to support operational needs and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as legal and brand requirements.
- Manage contractors, service providers, and external inspections, ensuring quality and timely work.
- Monitor and optimise energy use, utilities, and maintenance budgets.
- Keep detailed maintenance records and assist with capital planning and project implementation.
- Train your team on safety, emergency procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical skill and creative spark:
- You have solid technical knowledge and previous experience in a senior engineering/maintenance role, ideally within the hotel industry.
- You’re confident managing a team and setting high standards for safety, quality, and service.
- You’re skilled in troubleshooting and quick thinking – always ready with a plan B.
- You’re organised, calm under pressure, and happy to be on call when needed.
- You know your way around building systems and maintenance tools, and you understand the importance of documentation and compliance.
- You’re committed to keeping the hotel running smoothly – so every guest has a great experience.
