Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team in Mexico City, Mexico. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional experiences and ensuring smooth operations at our hotel's front desk.
- Greet and welcome guests, providing a warm and professional first impression
- Perform efficient check-in and check-out procedures, including room assignments and key card issuance
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and courteously
- Process payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment
- Upsell hotel services and amenities to maximize revenue and enhance guest experiences
- Maintain accurate guest records and reservations using the hotel's property management system
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest needs are met and issues are resolved
- Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation options
- Assist with concierge services, such as making restaurant reservations or arranging transportation
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance job skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of progressive experience in a Guest Services role, preferably in a hotel setting
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, management, hospitality, or related field; or equivalent of 3 years relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with Opera property management system is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Basic math skills for handling financial transactions and reconciling accounts
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry and local area attractions is beneficial
