PURPOSE OF POSITION
To assist to IT Supervisor for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems and data communications activities in the hotel. To handle day-to-day IT operations and to provide first level support for PMS, POS, guests and hotel office users.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Familiar with all the systems Opera, Micros, Windows Servers, all windows client operating systems.
  2. Knowledge with TCP/IP
  3. Backup and optimizing database
  4. Knowledge on LAN, WAN, structural cabling.
  5. Perform regular system’s health check and capacities studies to ensure optimum performance of servers and network
  6. Provide frontline PC and server troubleshooting
  7. Experience in managing systems and networks
  8. Provide in-house guest IT related matter troubleshooting and practice a proactive support by maintaining the services at 100% availability
  9. Support all the IT related issues in the company.
  10. Experience in dealing with vendors and users at all level
  11. Coordinate, introduce, implement, continuously manage and use best practice of Information Technology and telecommunications in order to protect, manage and exploit the use of IT within the business, effectively.
  12. Ensure Information Technology standards and best practices are communicated, implemented and measured.
  13. Ensure backup operations, review backup logs, send backup medias off site periodically and log them.
  14. Experience in managing systems and networks
  15. Provide In-house guest IT related matter troubleshooting and practice a proactive support by maintaining the services at 100% availability
  16. Coordinate and manage projects
  17. Experience in dealing with vendors and users at all level
  18. Oversee the work of the projects and ensure on time completion
  19. Document project progress
  20. Ensure that IT actively contributes to cost saving and revenue generating strategies
  21. Coordinate, introduce, implement, continuously manage and use best practice of Information Technology and telecommunications in order to protect, manage and exploit the use of IT within the business, effectively.
  22. Support the business in the preparation of contingency plans & co-ordinates the regular testing.
  23. Supervise and support the activity of the IT Butlers

 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Must have knowledge of cabling; computer networking equipment and operating systems, personal computer and server hardware; data communications equipment and protocols; and office administration applications.
  • Must be able to assist hotel guests with technical requirements and problems. Must be capable of training users with varying degrees of computer knowledge.
  • Sound Computer knowledge in Opera System, MICROS and MS office applications etc.
  • Must have strong project planning skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally should have a diploma in IT
  • Ideally should have a certificate in Project Management, Cisco and Microsoft Admin certification.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience
