Job Description
The Cluster Assistant Financial Controller supports the Cluster Director of Finance in managing the financial operations of properties within the cluster. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while driving cost optimization and maintaining the financial health of the cluster. The role involves working closely with property-level finance teams and other departments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the cluster.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on budget vs. actual performance.
- Support the consolidation of financial data across properties within the cluster
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for each property in the cluster.
- Monitor budget adherence and identify potential financial risks or opportunities.
- Provide recommendations for improving financial performance based on trends and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures as well as local statutory regulations.
- Supervise the accuracy of accounting entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation processes.
- Assist in coordinating external audits and implementing audit recommendations.
- Monitor and control costs across the cluster properties to maximize profitability.
- Analyze operational expenses and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Partner with department heads to track and manage departmental budgets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, CMA certification is a plus).
- Working ability on MC and Opera.
- Lead a multi national team.
- Maldives Experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in a cluster role
- Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting across multiple entities.
- Familiarity with local tax laws, labor laws, and financial regulations in the cluster's operating regions.
