Job Description

THE ROLE 

Were on the lookout for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician, you will be assisting in maintaining the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings in addition to safeguarding SO/ Auckland to guarantee that it continues to be a safe, functional, and enjoyable space for all guests and other team members. You'll also make sure that all refrigeration and air conditioning equipment complies with regulations and is safe to use.

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel including Pool, spa and water feature pump and motors, automatic chemical dispensers, VSD motors and control, Saflok electronic door lock, Storm water and sewerage pump and controls, Chillers and air handling units and control, and TV system.
  • Complete daily plant rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.
  • Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.
  • Assist in the keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • On completion of daily rounds sign off any relevant section of the Maintenance Manuals.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas

Qualifications

THE PERSON:

  • A hands-on, self-sufficient individual who takes pride in their work and is capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
  • Previous experience maintaining hotel fixtures, fixed plant, and equipment systems (an advantage, but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, punctual, and reliable.
  • Flexible and able to accommodate varying shift schedules.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • A trade qualification is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skilled at initiating contact and building rapport easily.
  • Highly organised and efficient in managing time and tasks.
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills.
