Job Description

Reports To: Spa Manager

General Purpose: The Spa Concierge is the frontline voice and face of the Spa and delivers the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, helpful and professional attitude with all guests and team members.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Answers prospective guests' questions and accepts reservations, exercising professional telephone etiquette when booking appointments, handling guests' requests and questions.
  • Checks in guests, answers questions, and handles guest requests and questions in a calm, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Communicates and describes in an articulate manner the spa offerings and their benefits, comparing and contrasting the different services on the menu.
  • Recommends and up-sells services that fit the guests' needs.
  • Recommends retail products with a command of knowledge on all product lines.
  • Gives tours and describes the spa facility to all guests entering the facility.
  • Provides beverage service to all guests.
  • Gets to know all guests that enter the Spa.
  • Complies with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facility.
  • Maintains spa facility by performing necessary housekeeping duties (picking up towels, cups, shower & bathroom area, vanity area and all surrounding areas) as requested.
  • Upholds spa decor by maintaining the set-up and cleanliness of the area.
  • Ensures guests services are started on time.
  • Processes payments as cash, credit card, gift certificates, comps and room charge transactions.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, stocked and well organized work area.
  • Inventories and keeps products and supplies well-stocked
  • Assists in all areas of the spa operation as directed by management.
  • Assists with special projects as requested.
  • Participates in scheduled meetings as requested.
  • Receives various services that are offered on spa menu and serves as a model for the training of new therapists when requested.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules, weekend, and holidays to reflect the needs of the facility.
  • Maintains an understanding of the spa industry and spa philosophy (balance, relaxation, unity, and a healthy lifestyle).
  • Understands that as a representative of the Spa it is essential to maintain a healthy, fit appearance and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

 

  • Punctual
  • Passion and desire for excellence.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • General accounting skills (for daily closing procedure).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Cooperative and friendly attitude.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to be efficient in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to use fax machine, copier and email.
  • Excellent, reading writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Previous customer service required.
  • Enthusiasm for the spa industry and all things 21c.
  • Must pass a background check

Education/Formal Training:

  • High school or equivalent education required.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to stand up or sit down up to 8 hours per day. Length of time of these tasks may vary.
  • Must be able to lift 15lbs occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening, hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Speaking and listening occur continuously in the process of communication with guest, management, and team members.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printer, multi touch tone phones, filing cabinet, fax machines, photocopiers and other office equipment.
