Job Description

 

  • Execute strategic campaigns and engage followers/fans on all social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.  to effectively increase following and use social media as a platform to generate revenue
  • Post dynamic content to key partner sites (Wholesale, Consortia, Wedding, Cvent and Visit Oakland)
  • Ensure hotel is updated on all brand marketing campaigns, toolkits and standards as provided by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
  • Assist in the development and execution of the hotel’s yearly marketing plan in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Manager, Director of Sales, & Director of Marketing to support all revenue streams: Rooms, Food & Beverage, Club and Spa
  • Update and coordinate on property collateral, including digital signage, reader boards, in-room TVs etc.
  • Assist with projects as required and other duties as assigned

Communications

  • Administering social media campaigns, developing specific methods to generate awareness, engagement and ecommerce conversion through social media. Nurturing and managing interactive buzz, focusing on blogs and social media sites including:  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc. and branded online communities such as FHRI talk to generate positive exposure
  • Assist in creation and maintaining of guest messaging including pre-arrival emails and confirmation emails, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
  • Acts as a spokesperson for community relations, media relations and hotel committees on property when the Director or Marketing Manager are unavailable.
  • Assist sales and catering team with promotional activities and communication

Public Relations

  • Create itineraries, reservations, amenity requests for incoming media, liaising with Front Office, Reservations, F&B, Housekeeping, Club, Spa and any other relevant departments as necessary.
  • Track all media hosted
  • Assist in creation of activations and community events
  • Assist the Director of Public Relations with updating media clipping portfolio and maintain press kits
  • Research publications and journalists as necessary in preparation of site alert
  • Assist with hotel photo and video shoots, coordinate photo shoot resume, liaise with Front Office, Engineering, Reservations, F&B, Club, Spa, and other relevant department

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Proficient in social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook. LinkedIn
  • Familiarity with design platforms including Canva, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Service focused personality is essential and experience in a luxury hotel preferred
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
  • Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong network skills
  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
