Job Description
Job Title: Busser (Part Time)
Hourly Rate: $15.56 (plus gratuities)
Sofitel New York is looking for a motivated and excited Busser to join our Restaurant team! Gaby Restaurant’s vision is to provide the highest level of excellence and to meet and exceed Sofitel New York’s Five Star standards. As a Busser, you will play a crucial role in creating a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for our guests by ensuring that tables are promptly cleared, cleaned, and set up for the next service. Your attention to detail, commitment to cleanliness, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the overall success of our dining establishment.
What you will be doing:
Table Maintenance:
- Clear and reset tables in a timely manner, ensuring a pristine and welcoming environment for guests.
- Arrange table settings according to restaurant standards and maintain proper tableware placement.
Assistance to Servers:
- Support servers in delivering exceptional service by promptly clearing empty dishes, glassware, and utensils.
- Assist in delivering food orders to tables and refilling water glasses as needed.
Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure a smooth flow of service.
- Collaborate with team members to anticipate and address guest needs promptly.
Cleanliness and Organization:
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in dining areas, including floors and furniture.
- Monitor and replenish supplies such as napkins, condiments, and utensils.
Guest Interaction:
- Exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, responding to requests, and providing assistance as required.
Adherence to Standards:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, as well as the restaurant's policies and procedures.
- Uphold the high standards of cleanliness and presentation associated with a luxury French dining experience.
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Must be fluent in English (speaking/reading/writing), proficiency in French a plus!
- Previous experience as a Busser or in a similar role within a high-end restaurant setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of French cuisine and dining etiquette is an asset.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a polished dining atmosphere.
