The Beaufort Bar is a late night cocktail bar hidden in the heart of the hotel that embodies the late-night celebrations that take place in the bar’s chic black and gold interior. Open until 1am, the Beaufort Bar is launching a new nightly programme of DJs, giving it a fun, sophisticated party atmosphere and making it one of London’s coolest and most exclusive night-time destinations.

Your purpose will be:

As the Beaufort Bar Manager at The Savoy Hotel, you will be responsible for leading and managing the operations of the prestigious Beaufort Bar. You will oversee the bar's day-to-day activities, ensuring exceptional service standards, maintaining a vibrant atmosphere, and delivering an unforgettable experience for our guests. With your extensive knowledge of mixology and beverage trends, you will create innovative cocktails and manage a team of talented bartenders. As a key member of the hotel's management team, you will uphold The Savoy's commitment to excellence, ensuring the bar's success and contributing to the overall reputation of the hotel.

You will be accountable for:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of bartenders and support staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure the team's success.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the bar staff.
  • Schedule staff efficiently to meet business needs while maintaining labour cost controls.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and excellent communication among the team members.

Beverage Program Management:

  • Develop and curate an exceptional beverage program, including a diverse cocktail menu that showcases creativity and innovation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, new products, and mixology techniques, integrating them into the bar's offerings.
  • Collaborate with the bar team to create unique and memorable experiences for guests, such as personalised cocktail recommendations or themed events.
  • Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring the availability of high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the bar area and equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Guest Service and Experience:

  • Provide an exceptional level of service, anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere, creating a memorable experience for guests.
  • Interact with guests, building relationships, and ensuring their satisfaction with the service and beverages.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to their satisfaction.

Financial Management:

  • Achieve revenue and profitability targets through effective cost controls and sales strategies.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, identify trends, and implement appropriate measures to maximize profitability.
  • Manage the bar's budget, including labour and inventory costs, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with the hotel's marketing and sales teams to develop promotional activities and drive business to the bar.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety, liquor licensing, and food hygiene.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and hygiene throughout the bar area.
  • Uphold The Savoy's brand reputation by delivering exceptional service and adhering to the hotel's policies and procedures.

Qualifications

What you will need to do in this role?

  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role in a luxury hotel or high-end bar setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of mixology, beverage trends, and a passion for creating unique cocktails.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and team members effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
