Application Comments:

  • Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).
  • Will provide workers at no charge tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job.
  • Employer does not offer daily transportation. However, employer will provide a subsidized public bus pass.
  • Boarding/lodging is optional in that Employer does not provide lodging; however, it will assist in locating boarding/lodging, if necessary.

Benefits:

  • Salary: $21.50 hour
  • Employees will be paid 1.5 times their hourly rate for overtime. For this position the overtime hourly rate is $32.25. 
  • If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work
  • Upon completion of the work contract or where the works is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place where the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.
  • The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
  • Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts 

Job Description:

  • Clean and service guest rooms, resort common areas and other assigned sections
  • Remove and change bed linens, vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, restock housekeeping carts with cleaning supplies and work with cleaning chemicals
  • Polish silver accessories and metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings
  • Sort, count and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets
  • Remove debris from corridors
  • Perform other sanitary and cleaning duties as needed

Minimum 35 hours per week (8 hour shifts with 30 minute break). Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Rotating shift work. Shift days and times vary depending on events and occupancy. Rotating shift times include 8:00a to 4:00p and 2:00p to 10:00p. 

Qualifications

Special Skills:

  • 3 months experience as housekeeper required 
  • All applicants must pass a pre-employment background check prior to starting (pursuant to company's hiring policies) including seasonal and full-time annual positions regardless of their national origin, race, gender or visa status
  • Must be able to lift, pull or push between 30 - 50 pounds of equipment or trash
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, overnights and holidays
  • All employees of the Hotel in this position are required to become members of the Labor Union (ILWU 142)
