Job Description

Accor is seeking a Manager, Design & Technical Services to lead the design interpretation, project management, and delivery of innovative hotel design concepts across our diverse portfolio.
As the Manager, Design & Technical Services, you will play a key role in reviewing and assessing hotel design project opportunities, ensuring the design, technical services and operational feasibility of projects for potential Accor’s involvement. From concept through to completion, you’ll oversee the project journey, you will guide owning companies and their appointed consultants through to project completion.
- Manage and oversee the end to end project management process to ensure the Accor standards are met, project deadlines and opportunities are met and utilizing company tools and system to track and report status.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, including company owners, internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure design solutions and project efficiency are met.
- Ensuring compliance with brand & design standards, technical services and operational effectiveness by reviewing documentation and facilitating the appropriate process.
- Develop property improvement plans, cost and development strategies.
- Develop and articulate conceptual design ideas and brand guidelines, effectively presenting and convincing stakeholders and property owners.
- Oversee and support prototyping processes (e.g., Mock-Up Rooms, FF&E), providing recommendations on construction quality and workmanship to ensure compliance with Brand and Product Standards prior to completion.
- Partner with the Project team throughout construction and the pre-opening phase, including technical services, defect inspections and resolution of handover issues.
Qualifications
What we need from you:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience specializing in Hotel Hospitality Project Design, Renovation, FFE Fitout & Project Management. Australian industry experience is mandatory.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, or Project Management.
- A strong foundation in interior, architectural design and refurbishment, with solid knowledge of local Building Codes & Standards.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident to present, negotiate and be flexible when appropriate.
- Ability to read and interpret interior, architectural, engineering and mechanical, and construction drawings.
- Strong experience in Interior finishes, design, cost strategies, value management process and FF&E.
- Must understand and passionate about design and quality.
- Knowledge in technical services.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office, scheduling, project and database management software (e.g. Powerpoint, Adobe, Bluebeam, Aconex, Procore)
- Knowledgeable about innovation, sustainability and trends both in and outside of industry.
- Flexibility in working hours and the ability to travel frequently.
- Candidate must be based in Sydney.
