Job Description

In the role of Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for strategizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the housekeeping department. Additionally, ensuring that the highest degree of quality is always maintained.

What you'll do...

  • Ensure all departmental service standards and sequences of service are being upheld.
  • Work collaboratively with all housekeeping partners on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Team.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction - address guest issues as they arise and provide prompt correspondence if necessary.
  • Keep control of daily financial reports, updating profit and loss for each month end.
  • Control departmental operating expenses and labor costs, improving departmental revenues when possible. Monitor all labor and payroll costs.
  • Keep controls of purchasing system(s).
  • Observe, teach, and develop team members.
  • Ensured all grounds are maintained to standard of service and design. Train and develop team to meet standards.
  • Manage Capital Expenditure projects directed to housekeeping areas.
  • Create new initiatives to improve the efficiency of guest standards and operational improvements.
  • Establish relationships with other companies in the hospitality industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation, a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • You have a passion for hospitality, you inspire an enthusiastic guest-centered approach.
  • You can turn any situation around into a positive experience for all, guests and team alike.
  • You think big and encourage your team to believe.
  • You are comfortable with the strategic as well as day to day detail.
  • You are able to easily identify and utilize emerging trends and technology to generate revenue. 
  • You exhibit a professional attitude, diplomacy and an ability to handle difficult situations.
  • You are highly responsible, reliable and ethical. A reputation for honesty and integrity.
  • You get things done, independently and skilled at taking decisive action.
