Job Description

Our European Finance team is looking for a Business Analyst (m/f/d) to join our team of analysts for Hotel Operations in the DACH region. You will work closely with our Operations Management Team and be responsible for the monthly analysis of the hotels' financial results, follow-up on hotel budgets, and ensuring forecast accuracy. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager Operations for the DACH countries (Germany, Austria & Switzerland) and is part of the wider region Europe & North Africa (45 countries).

 

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with our Operational Management Team (VP Operations), General Managers, and Revenue Management team in the region
  • Support hotels and VP Operations in the budget & forecast process
  • Conduct both annual budgeting processes and ongoing financial tasks throughout the year
  • Ongoing Financial Processes:
  1. Regularly analyse the hotels’ results and generate insights to support decision making
  2. Generate monthly statistics and monitor accounting closing in the hotels, including data collection, reliability checks, and performance analysis (revenues, costs, fees, etc.)
  3. Participate in regular business review meetings, analysing the hotels' P&L vs. last year, budget, and forecast, and ensuring the implementation of budget and action plans if needed
  4. As part of the monthly business reviews, you contribute with analysis of the hotels’ results and KPIs, providing the decision makers with insights, analysis and recommendations
  5. Generate regular reports, as well as create reporting tools to help follow-up on results
  6. Follow-up on the hotels’ rolling forecast and ensure a solid accuracy
  • Annual Hotel-Budgets:
  1. You support hotels and General Managers in their budget process
  2. As a team you will monitor budgets and support Operations, to help reach the targets agreed with owners

Qualifications

Your ideal profile would be:

  • At least 3 years relevant experience in Financial Analysis or similar, ideally with a background in hospitality
  • A degree in Business, Finance, or a comparable field
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Solid entrepreneurial and commercial mindset
  • Advanced Power Point- and Excel knowledge (complex functions, pivot, INDEX/MATCH, LOOKUPs & similar)
  • Strong communication skills and relationship management
  • Team player
  • Fluency in German and English
