Job Description
Reporting to VP Global Communications, Partnerships & Retail, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing the global PR & Communications strategy for Raffles Hotels & Resorts in an effort to further drive positive brand awareness and understanding. Responsibilties within the scope of this role include day-to-day media relations; key message development; writing and pitching press releases / brand content; managing executive profiling opportunities for key brand spokespeople; liasing with property level PR teams; tracking and analyzing media coverage, and oversight of Social Media for the brand. The ability to work collaboratively with key departments internally, including Accor’s Corporate Communications team, combined with excellent time management skills, multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail are essential criteria for this position.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- 20% Global Media Relations and External Communications Activity – proactive outreach and responsiveness to media inquiries from international media. This also includes execution and management of external activity such as brand activations, events & trade shows and press trip development as well as supporting partnership opportunities.
- 20% Content Development – lead the creation of brand press materials (i.e. press releases, press kits, messaging documents, speaking briefs, editorial calendars, etc.). Always abreast of market trends that are relevant for the brand and able to leverage these to engage the brand’s target customers.
- 20% PR and Social Media Agency & Budget Management – onboarding and regular management of dedicated global and in-market brand PR and Social Media agencies; management of departmental PR and Social Media budget. Oversee Crisis Management for the brand and its hotels together with PR and Social Media agencies.
- 20% Executive Profiling – positively influence the identity and reputation of the Raffles brand by effectively leveraging the brand’s key spokespeople via media opportunities, events, panels, and other speaking engagements.
- 20% Internal Communications and Hotel Oversight – regular communication and support for hotel PR teams and General Managers as well as representing the brand when working with other cross functional teams within the organization. Oversight of PR and Social Media strategy across Raffles properties including hotel’s use of external agencies and hotel’s representation of the brand.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in communications/marketing and/or journalism
- Minimum of 5+ years in communications/PR roles
- Expert knowledge in luxury travel market
- Expert writing and editing skills
- Strong media contacts in global luxury travel market
- Strong knowledge in Social Media
- Highly organized, self-motivated team player
- Ability to travel internationally
- PR agency experience an asset
