Job Description

The Member Services Manager is a critical function on API’s marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and managing our college and university Members’ marketing needs, from campaign conceptualization to execution. In this role, you will work to build strong relationships with Members, understand the specific needs and challenges of higher education study abroad and career service office professionals, and work with our Core Marketing Team to deliver effective campaigns that support the growth and expansion of their experiential programs.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead college and university Member onboarding, introducing the marketing services offering and discussing high level needs. 

  • Work with University Relations team to schedule follow-up meetings with Members in order to plan campaigns. 

  • Work with Core Marketing team to build out creative briefs for each Member campaign, indicating which programs will be promoted, details about key messages, content for social media, email and landing pages, and any required collateral.

  • Ensure all campaign deliverables meet the Members expectations and are delivered on time.  Ensure that Member approval is explicitly given before launch. 

  • Launch and track campaign results, reporting back to the University Relations team and Members on a monthly basis. 

  • Become the expert and advocate for Members in your portfolio.

  • Over time, as more Members join, scope the job requirements and hire additional Project Managers to fulfill the needs of new Members. 

  • Work to identify opportunities for automating and improving processes.   

  • Prioritize & manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.

  • Produce timely and accurate project reports for internal reference and Member consumption.  

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required.

  • Excellent, proven organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • 2-4 years of course work or experience in client services/account management in a direct marketing agency or a combination of agency/client side.

  • 2-4 years in higher education a plus.

  • Experience managing and building teams, as well as rolling up the sleeves and doing the work. 

  • Experience in interactive marketing - content writing, email marketing, social media, online acquisition.

  • Experience using digital workflows/project management software a plus.

  • Proficiency in Google Apps and/or Microsoft Office

  • Strong listening and superior relationship building skills.

  • High intellectual curiosity, drive, determination, self-confidence and persuasion skills.
