Abode Communities is a non-profit organization whose mission is to open new doors in people's lives through creative and responsible design, development and operation of service-enhanced affordable housing. The organization owns 39 properties that are home to more than 6,900 residents and has approximately eight additional properties under pre development that will eventually place an additional 2,500 people in affordable, service-enhanced housing over the next three years.

The organization fulfills its mission via four core divisions:  Architecture, Real Estate Development, Property Management and Resident Services.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an Accounting Clerk to work part-time (25-30 hours a week) at our corporate office. Duties include:

  • Processing and payment of accounts payable invoices
  • Monthly Billing for architectural services
  • Assist with journal entries data entry
  • Other special projects

Qualifications

•    Associate degree or technical certification equivalent in the accounting field, or minimum two (2) years of work experience, preferably in a foundation or in the non-profit sector. 
•    Ability to recognize and comply with accounting standards/procedures and applicable laws/rules/regulations/codes.
•    Skill in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
•    Effective oral/written communications skills.
•    Ability to balance priorities in a multi-task environment.
•    Ability to work effectively with colleagues, vendors, and consultants.
•    Must be organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
•    Requires analytical ability and sound judgment.

Additional Information

This is a part-time non exempt position. Pay range: $16-17/hour.
