Assistant Analyst, Asset Protection Investigations

Job Description 

 For this specific position, A&F is looking to add to its Corporate based Asset Protection team.  The Assistant Analyst will be based at A&F’s Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.

The Assistant Analyst will have responsibility in maintaining the high standards established around internal and external investigations.  Success will be measured through personal accomplishments and driving results within the field organization.

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • Utilizes Exception-based reporting tools and remote view CCTV capabilities to identify and investigate instances of theft and fraud within Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie Kids, Hollister Co. & Gilly Hicks store locations.
  • Reviews store submitted Known Shortage and Merchandise Recovery reports to validate information and build cases against external suspects.
  • Analyzes Inventory Shrink and RFID data to uncover vectors of loss from external sources for the purposes of building cases.
  • Reviews store CCTV to check for functionality, submits workorders for issues, and follows up through completion
  • Supports the field Organized Retail Crime investigators with ad hoc reporting needs and case building.
  • Conducts training for Asset Protection field team associates on AP systems related to case management.  Develops on-going training guides and participates in field webinars to educate field investigators on new fraud trends and demonstrates relevant tools that will mitigate loss.
  • Assists Manager of Asset Protection with evaluating current or new processes, testing existing software to ensure functionality with new features.
  • Audits external case reporting for compliance with company policies, submitting restitution and civil recovery demands.
  • Work alongside a team of centralized investigators to help direct various programs and initiatives throughout the company.
  • Track and report key performance indicators and metrics related to job performance as well as departmental goals.

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or related field, or relevant job experience.
  • Proficiency in exception-based reporting, query design and analysis beneficial. 
  • Experience with the use of industry-based software tools that include Agilence, ThinkLP, PowerBI and Tableau beneficial.
  • Must be a team player with superior communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately.
