As a Fraud Loss and Abuse Analyst, you will be pivotal in safeguarding our business from financial loss due to fraudulent activities and abuse. Your role will involve analyzing transaction patterns, identifying potential fraud indicators, and implementing strategies to mitigate risk. You will collaborate closely with the fraud, loss and abuse specialist, as well as various departments, including marketing, customer service, and legal teams, to ensure comprehensive fraud prevention and detection. A strong understanding of UK-specific regulations and fraud trends, along with experience in the EMEA market, is highly desirable to address the specific challenges and regulations associated with these regions.

This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.  

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • You will partner with the Fraud Loss and Abuse Specialist to build exception-based reporting defining and implementing risk mitigation and fraud detection on various projects throughout the business.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and fraud detection tools to investigate and resolve suspicious transactions.
  • You will make data-driven product decisions supported by metrics, user research, and user behavior monitoring in order to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and streamline risk processes, driving automation and efficiency
  • Leverage knowledge of regional fraud trends, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics in the EMEA region to inform fraud prevention strategies.
  • Adapt and implement fraud detection practices to address the unique challenges and regulations of the EMEA market.
  • Collaborate with EMEA-based teams to ensure alignment and effective fraud management across different countries and jurisdictions.
  • You will work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment with other business owners, project leaders, and team members.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting, dashboards, and visualizations to key stakeholders, enabling them to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions

 

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • Experience designing, building, and governing fraud mitigation reporting that enables a positive user experience while also managing risk
  • Expert knowledge of tools, systems and processes supporting risk detection, payment transactions, operational procedures, and risk scoring
  • Demonstrated experience working in or with the UK market, with a solid understanding of UK fraud patterns, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances.
  • Experience with the EMEA market, providing a broad perspective on regional fraud trends and practices.
  • Strong experience with data structures, analytics, and data visualization
  • Exceptional communication skills that enable clear articulation of vision, strategy, and execution
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills with data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Strong prioritization and focus, including comfort making tradeoffs with incomplete information
  • Ability to rapidly understand user needs, respond to tight deadlines, and deliver solutions that drive key business metrics
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in fraud detection, loss prevention, or a related role, preferably within the retail industry.
  • 4-year degree BS/BA in Business, Criminal Justice, Analytics or Marketing is preferred
