Job Description 
A shift Lead for Campus or DC Security oversees the team’s day-to-day operations and is responsible for protecting the physical assets of the company, while maintaining a safe and secure working environment for our associates and visitors.  The Lead will execute training and development for individual team members, according to opportunities and with an emphasis on building a well-rounded team.  The Lead will provide feedback and coaching to team members, reinforcing and redirecting in a fair and consistent way.  Leads will act as a subject matter expert & player-coach, leading by example and supporting the regular and/or extraordinary activities of the team, which could include the following: event security, first responder responsibilities, and more.   

This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.  

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • Manages direct reports’ activity during shift to support basic business and department needs
  • Resident expert on all related security systems and tools
  • Facilitates hands-on training and leadership development of direct reports, leveraging company provided tools
  • Observes, collects feedback and provides regular coaching and mentoring to direct reports
  • Directing visitors and controlling access at all entry points
  • Writing incident/accident reports on issues that occur on the campus
  • Monitoring CCTV, security and fire suppression systems
  • Patrolling and securing areas inside and outside the facilities
  • Administering first aid
  • Restricting inbound/outbound truck access at each of the Distribution Centers
  • Report and address safety concerns

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience of 3+ years in Security related field required
  • Education in a Security related field a plus
  • Respectful communication that applies to all levels of associate
  • Receptivity and openness to feedback and coaching
  • Strong written communication skillset
  • Attention to detail and follow through on issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong public relations skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Successful completion of criminal background investigation and department training program
  • Must be able to quickly respond, on foot, to locations throughout the facilities 
  • Must be able to view information on a computer monitor and CCTV screen 
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license
