Job Description 

At Abercrombie & Fitch the Delivery & Site Reliability Engineering team is responsible for the availability and performance of our websites and working with dev teams to ensure seamless releases to production.  The primary goal of this position is to support dev teams making them more effective and efficient while ensuring the availability and reliability of our applications, services and websites.  

 

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • Be a technical lead for the DSRE team by designing and architecting solutions and/or processes
  • Bring new ideas and philosophies to the team to challenge our current processes, procedures, and tools
  • Mentor and teach others within and outside of the immediate team on systems, tools, processes & best practices
  • Initiating discussions with dev teams to enhance their ability to deliver changes and monitor their applications
  • Determine where there are opportunities for increased visibility and define the requirements for dashboards, monitors, and alerts to ensure our websites & applications are performant
  • Efficiently and effectively execute needed tasks for the release life cycle to production and identify opportunities for automation
  • Be a point person to triage production incidents, working collaboratively to quickly identify root cause and resolve the issue
  • Recognize, lead, and support various application upgrades
  • Documenting new/enhanced capabilities or processes to ensure knowledge sharing and alignment across teams
  • Assist with performance testing by researching issues and finding opportunities to optimize performance
  • Be an advocate for our customers and the performance of our sites by tracking and following up on opportunities.

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • 6+ years of proven experience in an applicable SRE, DevOps, and/or Software development role
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an additional 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Track record of seeking and finding ways to improve resiliency and predictability through automation and learning new technologies
  • Experience with defining requirements for and building reliable and effective Jenkins jobs to improve automation
  • Proven ability to identify gaps/opportunities where additional monitoring and alerting would be of benefit
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.
  • Knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes required
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud & WCS/HCL commerce preferred
  • Experience with Kafka, Nginx, Prometheus a plus
  • Be available for on-call responsibilities and bring a calm & organized mindset in production impacting scenarios
  • An ability to prioritize and balance several opportunities, initiatives and requests
