Job Description:

The Store Concept & Design Operations Specialist manages and supports the core processes of the store design team and its role in bringing brand strategies to life within the physical {store} experience.  This person is focused on the effective communication and coordination involved with store planning* at A&F, ensuring efficient execution of multi-branded design projects, maintaining alignment with branded teams**, and meeting store planning objectives.

This process-oriented person must possess strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills. They take initiative and ownership of tasks and follow through, collaborate to creatively solve problems, react quickly, and swiftly adapt to changing priorities. In addition, this person has retail design background and has experience as a Store Designer.   

*Store Planning group consists of Store Design, Real Estate, Maintenance & Construction, Global Procurement, Store Operations, and Tech Services

**Branded Team consists of Store Design, Marketing, Stores Field, Visual, Merchants, Brand Design, Planning, and Inventory Management

This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.  

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Coordinate and manage the Store Concept & Design planning and implementation of capital projects and conceptual store projects
  • Develop and maintain tools and processes that support the team in planning, implementing, and assessing risk to Global Real Estate projects and conceptual store projects
  • Support on-time completion of key milestones and on-time project execution by tracking project schedules and design deliverables, identifying and quickly escalating issues, and strategizing solutions to maintain schedules and manage workload
  • Coordinate and manage store design project request process
  • Collaborate with Store Concept & Design Operations Strategy Manager, Store Planning, and Branded teams to identify, create, and rollout process efficiencies
  • Support Store Concept Design & Product Development teams in developing design solutions driven by internal and external customer insights
  • Manage department budget
  • Manage onboarding and training process for new team members; manage Masterclass calendar for ongoing team education and training
  • Support presentation needs for key meetings, working in Microsoft applications & Adobe Creative Suite

What do you need to bring?

  • 3+ years of retail design experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Interior Design or Architecture) or related experience.
  • Required proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Sketch-up/3D Modeling Programs; proficiency in Enscape, Jira, Lucernex a significant plus
  • Self-motivated – takes initiative, ability to work independently and drive results, comfortable operating in ambiguity on complex, large scale projects
  • Strong communication skills, particularly surrounding the development of process and presentations
  • Curiosity, creativity and motivation to push our brands to be the best they can be
  • Organized and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Team player – collaborate effectively with a team and diverse group of business partners
  • Receptive to feedback from team and multiple business partners
  • Energetic, positive, creative problem solving with a solution-based strong communication skills, particularly surrounding the development of process and presentations
