Job Description 

The Technical Project Manager is part of the Solutions Delivery team within the Digital & Tech Department at A&F. Our PM’s plan and organize the delivery of technical projects leveraging Agile disciplines. This role will be a Project Manager under the very large Program of upgrading our heavily customized merchandising tool from on-prem to the cloud.

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • Oversee delivery of defined business capabilities and value within the project scope
  • Champion A&F’s culture and core values
  • Coordinate and prioritize all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, communication, execution and completion.
    • Create and maintain project Feature level project plan that identifies the activities required to complete the project along with activity dependencies and owners.
    • Revise project plan as needed to maintain alignment with cross-impacted projects and business strategy.
    • Leverage JIRA tasks / details to track work and monitor progress.
    • Ensure complete understanding of business needs and processes.
  • Monitors and controls project scope, schedule, milestones, budget, and risk.
    • Responsible for internal and external resource management, budgeting and cost containment.
    • Develop and control timelines, including regularly assessing and mitigating risks throughout the project by removing blockers and escalating issues
    • Collaborate across the teams to confirm resource availability, and maintain consolidated resource and timeline views across the program
  • Provide transparent communication to leadership on status, issues, risks, and required decisions across the program
    • Lead project team meetings and clearly convey project goals and requirements.
    • Communicate with stakeholders to bridge the “technology gap” by using terms and concepts familiar to stakeholders.
    • Facilitate team meetings to achieve an expected outcome and enable decision-making. This includes meeting preparation, capturing actions from meetings, and facilitating group activities (e.g., brainstorming, whiteboarding).
    • Define, communicate, and manage dependencies across projects
  • Support A&Fs Agile Transformation by understanding the Ways of Working and Agile Team roles and responsibilities

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • B.A./B.S. in Business, Engineering, or technical area preferred
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in technical project mgmt or consulting; retail experience a must, specifically in Supply Chain or Product Facing Systems (Sourcing, Planning, Inventory, Pricing, Merchandising)
  • Prior experience in a technical role (development, integrations, infrastructure, or operations).
  • Strong experience with JIRA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Strong business, leadership, planning and organizational skills
  • Proven experience in agile project management with multiple workstreams
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation and issue resolution skills; ability to drive consensus
  • Ability to work and deliver in a fast paced, changing environment with a presence to adjust to situations that could involve conflicting goals
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively manage a dispersed team and prioritize work
  • Display a leadership approach of Show Up, Team Up and Build Up to collaboratively drive work forward
  • Employs a collaborative approach and has a strong sense of teamwork
