Technical Product Analyst, MDM (Remote)

Job Description 

The primary responsibility of the Technical Product Analyst is to work within the A&F Technology and business community to understand user and technical requirements. The analyst will partner with business users, clients, and engineering teams to identify opportunities and inefficiencies, and manage business requests. They will work with the MDM/Catalog Services team to prioritize, discover, and deliver features/stories.

 

This role is focused on the MDM (master data management) product domain, which includes, but is not limited to the Stibo STEP MDM platform and custom peripheral applications, such as Category Assignment Tool, Sorting Rules Manager, MVP digital pricing tool, Photo Studio Workflow. The ideal candidate is both familiar with retail product data and related workflows and is comfortable with product data systems.

 

What Will You Be Doing? 

  • Identify opportunities to improve product workflows and product data systems
  • Track technical product metrics and identify feature-level solutions that improve them
  • Team up with cross functional teams to ensure business needs are understood, documented, and are being met
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the MDM toolset and a close relationship with business users to understand any challenges they’re experiencing with them
  • Translate business needs into feature and story level requirements
  • Feature-level ownership in the MDM domain; help to define success criteria of a feature and then drive its successful completion
  • Evaluate potential product features, assessing time and complexity, and help prioritize the development of solutions in alignment with larger strategic objectives
  • Partner with Technical Product Manager (TPM) to develop a technical product roadmap and communicate roadmap to stakeholders
  • Contribute to defining objectives and key results (OKRs) for each feature, in partnership with TPM and Data & Analytics team
  • Gather data and insights using available tools on a daily to weekly basis to assist TPM with prioritization decisions
  • Point of contact for both inbound and outbound communication related to the MDM product and its features
  • Responsible for understanding and articulating the impact of changes across MDM domain
  • Participate in user acceptance testing as needed and closely monitor released features
  • Collaborate with experience squads and other technology teams to identify dependencies
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies
  • Triage business issues and provide business support
  • Debug data issues within MDM, MVP, SRM, CAT, and PSW applications

What Do You Need To Bring? 

  • 3+ years of experience working with MDM/Data Technology in an IT Support or Analyst Role
  • Strong understanding of retail product data and workflows
  • Ability to successfully manage timelines whether working independently or in a team environment
  • Shows high attention to detail while balancing both quality and speed of delivery
  • Excellent analytical, opportunity assessment, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with creative, strategic, and engineering partners, and adjust messages to match audience’s level of technical proficiency
