Job Description
The E-Commerce team at Abercrombie & Fitch is the driving force behind all our innovative digital and omni-channel operations. This team is focused on developing, designing, testing, and implementing new and improved ways for our customers to experience the brands both in stores and online.
We are seeking a user experience researcher to join our UX Design team and deliver on Abercrombie & Fitch’s global digital experience strategy. As a UX Researcher, you will help stakeholders across the organization make customer centric decisions by planning, conducting, and reporting on primary and secondary research into the omni-channel experience. The right candidate will approach questions with an analytical, inquisitive attitude and determine what information is needed to best solve problems and drive customer centered decision making.
What will you be doing?
- Partner with team members (primarily UX and Product Management) and design and execute studies to gain user insights, validate concepts, and uncover new opportunities.
- Understand the strengths, shortcomings, and limitations of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase. Communicate these research opportunities and limits to designers and stakeholders.
- Perform activities such as heuristic evaluations, secondary research, data mining, and data analysis.
- Lead and/or support primary research studies with customers (moderated and unmoderated).
- Development of learning agenda, discussion guide, participant recruitment, and preparation of testing materials.
- Translate research insights into actionable recommendations and direction.
- Deliver data and insights in presentations and reports to stakeholders from across the organization.
- Organize and prioritize while working on multiple, simultaneous projects of varied size and complexity.
What will you need to bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree with preferred area of study in Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Digital Media, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of industry research experience.
- Experience in planning, conducting, analyzing and reporting on user studies for idea generation and evaluation.
- Familiarity with a range of user research methods used to gather qualitative and quantitative data (contextual interviews, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, survey development, secondary research analysis, competitive analysis, digital analytics, etc.)
- Familiarity testing with prototypes (rough drafts and working prototypes).
- Deep understanding of heuristics for user interfaces and experience conducting heuristic evaluations.
- Analytical problem-solving skills, outstanding writing and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to a group.
