Company Description

The Abdullah Dzinamarira Foundation (ADF), a non-profit charity organization, aims to share hope with underprivileged and vulnerable children by ensuring their access to education and basic social support services. The Foundation seeks a highly motivated candidate to serve as the Program Intern. The program intern will function in the technical department. The incumbent will report to the Technical Field Officer.

ADF is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated and passionate individual to fill the Program Intern position based at our Katanga, Norton Office. The incumbent will support the technical department with project implementation and administrative tasks. Additionally, the incumbent will support the ADF office with project stakeholder engagement. The Program Intern will support the Technical Field Officer and the Executive Director in organizing all program-related meetings internally and externally as well as keep a record of all minutes. This position requires a highly motivated and mature individual. S/he should have the ability to work under minimum supervision and under pressure, with initiative, excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and professionals. Priority will be given to Norton residents.

Job Description

  • Assist in day-to-day running of program activities, campaigns and finances
  • Support the technical team in seeking program, fundraising and collaboration opportunities
  • Conduct research and gather data to support ongoing initiatives
  • Ensure timely reporting of program activities with relevant stakeholders and partners
  • Contribute to communication efforts such as social media, newsletters, briefs and attend stakeholder engagement meetings as required
  • Support schedule of stakeholder and team meetings: maintain minutes and ensure follow up on action items arising from minutes
  • Maintain and organize up-to-date hard and electronic files for easy access and retrieval

Qualifications

  • A student currently enrolled in the social sciences field, development studies, social work or equivalent
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • A passion for social impact and non-profit work
  • Highly innovative, proactive with problem-solving skill and attitude
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
