Are you an experienced and motivated immunohistochemistry scientist looking to contribute to innovative drug discovery programs in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment? Join our Pathology team and help advance research that informs target validation, target distribution, animal model development, pharmacology, and combination therapy strategies.

The Pathology team is seeking an immunohistochemistry scientist to perform single-plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays using advanced multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF) platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with study pathologists, project teams, histotechnologists, and fellow scientists to develop robust assays and generate high-quality, quantitative data that support critical research decisions.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, independent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently design and execute single-plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays ensure assay execution meets established quality and performance criteria
• Partner with pathologists and project teams to determine the most appropriate assay design and experimental approach for key project questions, including questions related to target validation and expression aligned with project objectives and timelines 
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot assays using the Opal and Leica Bond Rx platforms with minimal input from pathologists
• Analyze results and present clear, well-organized findings with representative images and quantitative data
• Provide technical leadership in IHC panel design, assay optimization, and complex assay development
• Apply a thorough understanding of image analysis to support the complete assay-development process, from assay design through endpoint generation
• Mentor junior scientists and promote consistent, high-quality laboratory practices
• Evaluate emerging technologies and communicate relevant opportunities to the team
• Use Sample Manager, DreamPath, and other laboratory systems to document and track activities
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant experimental records

• Bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry or related field with 10 years of experience or master’s degree with 8 years of experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, pathology, life sciences, or a related discipline, with relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated experience performing immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays
• Thorough knowledge of the Opal mIF platform, including assay development, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Experience with image analysis and the ability to understand how image-analysis methods affect assay quality and quantitative endpoints
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to generating accurate, reproducible, and well-documented results
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present technical findings clearly to cross-functional project teams
• Microsoft office skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Qualification in IHC (QIHC)
• Experience with the COMET multiplex immunofluorescence platform
• Knowledge of spatial biology, quantitative pathology, or image-analysis software
• Familiarity with Sample Manager, DreamPath, or comparable laboratory tracking systems
• Experience mentoring junior scientists or providing technical guidance to colleagues
