Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Commercial executives and BU Leads, providing insights, guiding strategy, and influencing key decisions with objectivity and courage. Own full accountability for the team's work product approach, quality, and timeliness.
Lead and prioritize BU analytical initiatives, ensuring high-quality, timely insights while driving operational excellence across global pipeline and on-market U.S. Brand/Franchise/Sales teams.
Translate brand business problems into clear analytical paths for APEX teams; synthesize and connect insights across functions to deliver an integrated 1APEX and 1AbbVie perspective.
Drive empowered cross-functional partnerships within APEX, TA&O, BTS, Finance, and broader commercial stakeholders; negotiate prioritization of time and resources on the highest-value projects and protect strategic thinking time for the team.
Lead APEX strategic transformation, including establishment of best practices, continuous improvement, and adoption of emerging techniques and industry innovation to evolve team capabilities.
Oversee field planning, tools, and incentive compensation capabilities; support delivery of field effectiveness resources and drive integration across APEX centers of excellence.
Develop and maintain deep understanding of the global healthcare business environment — including federal, state and local governments, payors and managed markets, distribution channels, and pricing strategies — to inform brand and analytics strategies.
Provide understanding of market research design, sound analytical approaches, and the interrelationships between financial measures to support brand marketing teams in informed decision-making.
Embody strong decision-making practices; provide clarity and focus on key priorities, help teams manage workload accordingly, and seek opportunities to streamline and right-size analytical work relative to the business decision at hand.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged team. Attract top talent, provide timely and specific feedback, champion development plans, and push decision-making to the appropriate level to build team confidence and capability.
