Job Description

Position Objective:

Efficiently manage resources, product control, and improvement implementation, adding value across all production processes in accordance with the company’s defined standards, quality regulations, and safety requirements, in order to achieve the goals and objectives established for the manufacturing area.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate in controlling work-in-process product across all assigned production lines, in order to ensure priority compliance and identify possible constraints.
  2. Ensure production line results in order to control compliance with the Production Plan.
  3. Evaluate and implement changes in procedures, catalogs, First Article, First Shipment First Article, among other improvement opportunities in the production process, to ensure they are carried out quickly and appropriately in order to reduce operating costs.
  4. Support production lines in clarifying procedures and evaluating the technique applied in task execution, in order to avoid deviations from quality system requirements.
  5. Coordinate and/or execute required experimental tests (Pre Processing Test, Pre Processing Run, P10), to support approval of raw materials required for manufacturing.
  6. Provide support in production capacity management in order to align production commitments with the logistics department.
  7. Support external or internal audit processes as required by the regulatory authority.
  8. Measure, control, and report manufacturing area indicators through tools such as Yield Team, A3, Green Belt, PDCA, Value Stream Map, among others, in order to assist decision-making and promote continuous improvement.
  9. Investigate area deviations to identify and generate preventive and corrective actions in order to eliminate root causes.
  10. Evaluate nonconforming product and request its disposition in accordance with the company’s quality system.
  11. Provide support to Human Resources in order to contribute to onboarding, job changes, and other cases that arise in the assigned area.
  12. Ensure employee motivation by making sure that behaviors promoting Allergan culture are reinforced and recognized in a timely manner, both formally and informally.
  13. Ensure compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements through adherence to policy and internal procedures. Likewise, ensure compliance through the adoption of necessary strategies, internal controls, communication, and training.
  14. Continuously improve EHS results through leadership, commitment, and active participation in all EHS-related initiatives.
  15. Perform all other duties inherent to the position and those assigned by the immediate supervisor, in order to make the best use of area resources.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Industrial Maintenance Engineering, or Materials Engineering
  • Start of Master’s studies with a focus related to Manufacturing (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in process improvement or optimization

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in people management in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years of experience in the medical device industry
  • At least 1 year of experience in quality (preferred)
  • Demonstrated results in process improvement or optimization

Knowledge:

  • Quality management systems / regulated systems (GMP, QSR, FDA, ISO, CAPA) — required
