Job Description

Maintain in optimum conditions all mechanical or electrical, or instrumentation equipment, and their related process systems in order to avoid production downtime due to equipment failure. This includes the maintenance, repair, replacement, and minor rearrangement of all systems within the capability, and time personnel limitations. Provide and/or coordinate all level of maintenance at the lowest possible cost, maintaining to a minimum the productions interruption due to equipment, building and facilities failures. Maintain equipment/systems in optimum condition to meet Plant requirements in the most economic and safe conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise operation, maintenance, and repairs to the following services and related plant equipment: Manufacturing equipment, compressed air, purified water, HVAC system, chilled water, potable water and steam/condensate. Supervise maintenance, repair, and overhaul of buildings.
  • Measure and track subordinates’ performance and develop training programs to maintain optimum service level. Manage disciplinary actions following human resources policies and procedures areas of responsibilities.
  • Coordinate contracted services to adhere with GMP and plant’s procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain and administrate preventive maintenance, corrective, predictive, calibration program for plant equipment, process equipment, buildings. Assure adequate spare parts, tools, and other items needed to perform the maintenance work duties.
  • Assist in the preparation of the maintenance budget accordingly to the Plant needs and projections.
  • Support maintenance staff to maintain loss prevention systems in optimum conditions to protect property and human life.
  • Investigate and/or participate in the evaluation and preparation of formal investigations of excursions in areas of responsibilities. Establish sound and effective corrective actions to fix root cause of events.
  • Participate in the implementation, start-up and commissioning of capital projects taking place in facilities, plant equipment or utilities services.
  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of EHS program.
  • Support activities related to Reliability Engineering and maintain MEP programs and initiatives.

Significant Work Activities:

  • Work in a clean room environment
  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
  • Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering: Mechanic, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial or Biomedical engineering required. Master degree desirable.
  • Engineering maintenance in industrial environment - 2 years
    Engineering maintenance in pharmaceutical environment - 2 years
    Supervision in industrial or pharmaceutical (GMP) environment - 2 years
    Total combined minimum years of experience required - 6 years (not necessarily the sum of the above)
  • The selected candidate must be fully bilingual (English & Spanish) both written and verbal. 
  • Availability to work on a second shift (2:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m.).
